Obituary of Dennis Allan Dorr

January 4, 1931 ~ January 24, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis (Steve) Allan Dorr at the age of 93 years. He is survived by the love of his life for over 69 years, Ruth Elizabeth (MacMunn). Loving Dad to Denise Wood and her husband Jack, Stephen Dorr and his wife, Tracey. Papa Steve to his grandkids, Gillian Hunter (Thomas), Dennis Wood (Maddy Kwan), Jessica Dorr, Ryan Dorr (Vanessa Klis) and Nicole Dorr. Special Papa Steve to his great grandkids, Harrison and Vivienne Hunter. He will be missed by his siblings Laureen Clarke and Warren Dorr and his wife Linda. Predeceased by his parents, Grant (Sandy) and Marion Dorr, and his late brothers, Ron, Ralph and Lloyd.

Steve along with his brother Ralph owned and operated Dorr Brothers Limited in Stoney Creek for over 35 years. Ruth and Steve enjoyed the years at the RHYC, sailing their boat around Hamilton Harbour and in Lake Ontario. They loved to travel.  First driving around Europe, then later on, traveling with tours and cruises.  Driving to the condo in Florida was always fun for them, stopping along the way, visiting different sites.

The family would like to give a big thank you to Dr. Kaushal, all the wonderful, doctors, nurses (Tiffany, Lisa, Alex and Toni), PSWs and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, ALC Unit for their kindness and loving care they gave Dennis. Also, thank you to the Front Line Staff at Seasons in Stoney Creek.

Denise,  Stephen and family would like you to join them as they celebrate the life of their dad at the Waterfront Event & Conference Centre, 555 Bay Street North, Hamilton, (attached to the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club) on Saturday, February 3rd from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. If desired, donations to St. Joseph’s Hospital, ALC Unit or Huntington Society of Canada would be sincerely appreciated by the family
