Obituary of Gioi Thi Nguyen
Gioi Thi Nguyen, an adoring mother, grandmother, and wife, passed away on January 21, 2024. Born in Ho Chi Minh City on January 1, 1951, Gioi was a beacon of strength, selfless love, and empathy to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had an unwavering dedication to taking care of everyone else before herself, a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Gioi was a devoted wife to Chau Van Duong for a beautiful span of 55 years. Their love story continues to inspire their close knit family, and her legacy will be carried forward by her loving family: her husband Chau, cherished sons Anthony, David, Simon, John, and Peter, seven beloved grandchildren, and one eagerly anticipated grandchild. Gioi is also deeply missed by her three brothers and four sisters, along with a host of extended family and friends.
Gioi's passion for gardening was evident in the vibrant green spaces she meticulously created. This passion led her to receive twenty prestigious Trillium awards for Best Landscaping, a testament to her enduring artistic touch and dedication.
Visitation will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, ON, on Tuesday, January 23rd from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Gioi's life and selfless spirit will be held at Incarnation Church (corner of Nash Rd. and Barton St., Hamilton) on Wednesday, January 24th, 2024 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
Gioi Thi Nguyen was a radiant light in the lives of many, and her spirit of unselfish devotion will continue to inspire and guide us all. Her memory will forever be treasured, and she shall forever reside in our hearts.
