Obituary of William 'Liam' Robert Butler

Our family is completely devastated at the loss of our sweet little boy.

Liam passed away early Wednesday, January 10th, 2024 due to complications from his leukemia treatment. Our family, our home, and our community, will never be the same.

We are so proud of Liam and how his larger-than-life personality was so infectious.

We all laughed a little louder, we all smiled a little bigger, and we all loved a whole lot harder. His light always shined so brightly even when some of the toughest obstacles were put in his way. Anyone who knew Liam, knew that he met every obstacle in his life with determination, strength, a smile on his face and a microphone in his hand. He was a force to be reckoned with and the world will never be the same without him.

Liam would challenge everyone he met to ignore their comfort zone.  He wanted them to have fun and experience pure joy, which would be followed by hearing his laugh and watching his performances. Liam would make sure the music was loud and that everyone was singing and dancing.  That’s who Liam was, for anyone he met in life, regardless of what he was going through. Liam gave and received more love in his short life than many people do in their entire lifetime. He had such a big heart. He always thought of others first. He craved human connection, plugging into people physically and emotionally, all the time.  He gathered people together and drew them in. No one was left behind when Liam was around. Liam exceeded every expectation and limitation and always stood so tall and proud of his accomplishments. 

I would give anything for "one more ride" around the block or just “5 more minutes”. 

Our family will never be the same again with a piece of us missing. Cremation has taken place.

Friends and family are welcome to join in Liam’s Celebration of Life at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 3-6 p.m.
