Obituary of Mary Helen Sadonoja

(nee Simi)

It is with heavy hearts we share in the passing of our mother, Mary Helen Sadonoja, on December 31st, 2023, at the age of 93. She has peacefully joined the love of her life, John Ilmari Sadonoja, who passed away too early in 1997. Her life was a testament to love, kindness and unwavering strength and she leaves behind a legacy of compassion and warmth that touched the lives of all who knew her. Loving mother of Dan (Marilyn), Leslie (Ange Jelicic) and Steve (Bonnie). Will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Lauren (Lauren), Kelly, Michael (Victoria) and Matthew (Melanie) and great grandchildren, Lincoln and Jacob. 

Our beloved parents were deeply proud of their Finnish heritage, instilling its traditions, values and cultural pride in their children.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Powerhouse, 21 Jones St, Stoney Creek on Sunday, January 7th, 2024 between 1-4 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
