Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Hazen

HAZEN, Margaret Elizabeth (Brett) Peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in her 91st year at New Village Retirement Home. Born On March 19, 1923 in Fergus Ontario West Garafraxa Township Wellington county. Beloved wife of the late Neal Hazen (2005). Loving mother of Karl Hazen and his wife Anita of Hamilton and Paul Hazen and his wife Mara Eglitis of Wilberforce, Ontario. Devoted grandmother of Kathryn (Chris Leslie) of Hamilton and Mike (Jose) of Gatineau Quebec. Great grandmother of Allysha, Spencer and Maxime. Oldest daughter of Phillip and Mable Brett. Predeceased by her youngest sister Mary Gittings of Hamilton and survived by middle sister Phyllis McBride of Coburg and brother-in-law Harold Gittings. Margaret taught in a one room public school and was active in United Church activities in Petrolia and Stoney Creek. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Sunday June 2, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior.
