Eileen's friends at the Stoney Creek Tennis Club are so sorry to learn of her passing. She was a bright, engaged member of our club for many years. She served on our executive board, where her great organizational skills and positive energy were an incredible asset. Her smile and laughter lit up the courts. Eileen will be fondly remembered by our tennis community.

My husband and I met Eileen when we bought our first home right next door to her in spring 2018. Eileen became a great friend over the years and we very much miss her. She was an incredibly warm, funny and overall delightful soul, and we always felt so lucky to have her as a neighbour. When I became pregnant with our now three year old son, Harper, early in the COVID pandemic, Eileen was one of the first people we shared the good news with and our little boy loved her very much. He would rake her lawn, water her plants and run around in her backyard with Lexus, Bentley and Stella, her "fur-grandbabies." Eileen would have a thoughtful gift ready for our son at every holiday, and we'll treasure the books and stuffies she generously gave Harper. She will never be forgotten by our family <3 Chloe, Alex and Harper

We will miss Eileen so much. A life long friend to our mom since they met while working at Aylmer Foods in their late teens. Eileen was always a dear friend, full if stories, love for her family and her church. We are so saddened by her loss. Rest in peace. Another angel to watch over us.

Nancy and Jennifer, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. She was so proud of both of you and your families. We enjoyed many lunches and weekend get-aways and there was always lots of reminiscing of our early days starting when we first met at 5 years old. I will truly miss a dear friend.

I was saddened today to read that dear Eileen had passed away. I met Eileen more that 60 years ago when we were expecting our first babies. We met at prenatal classes offered at the YWCA. We were joined by another young Mom Nancy Shennan and became friends that met once a month with our babies. We met until our second babies were born and then it became difficult to get together! I never forgot her sweetness as a Mom and Woman. I have lovely memories of times together with our babies! Sincerely Liz Hill

Beautiful Eileen, the neighborhood will never be the same again. I've had the pleasure of speaking to Eileen on her many walks often daily with her grandpups or gatherings at neighbors and her passing hurts. I will miss her laughter and amazing stories. Our deepest condolences to her family as they all were her greatest treasure. God's speed Eileen till we meet again, rest easy dear friend. Tina and Paula (the girls on the corner)

Already I am missing Eileen's voice singing behind me in church. She would have loved to be present today, December 17th, for Gift Basket Sunday when St. Columba and Pioneer Memorial folks wrap Xmas gifts for struggling families after the service. Eileen was a rock of our church community, very faithful. She takes her place now with the saints, gone home to be with God. Rest in peace Eileen. We will remember you fondly.
