Obituary of Ann Marie Crookshanks

(Rooney) 

August 28, 1945 - November 19, 2023 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mother, Nana, Nanny, Ann  Marie Crookshanks, 78 on November 19, 2023 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario.  

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on August 28, 1945. She immigrated to Canada with her husband Tom in 1973.  

She is predeceased by her parents, father Patrick Rooney 1984 and mother Sarah Rooney  (Mahon) 2002. Her late brother Robert Rooney 2021 and her loving husband Thomas  Crookshanks 1993. 

She will be forever loved and missed by her daughters, Ann Crookshanks Jr. (Mike) and  Patricia Crookshanks (Ryan), her grandchildren Anthony Katool (Ashley), Sarah Katool (Justin),  Liam Richardson and Ciara Richardson, her great grandchildren, Ava, Riley, Cali and Kollin. As well as family and friends in Canada, Northern Ireland, Ireland and the United States. 

Ann devoted 28 years working at Robert Soper’s LTD in Hamilton and served as the local union  president for many of those years, supporting and fighting for the rights of the workers. 

Ann cherished her time spent with her family and friends,
