Obituary of Ethel Sally McKay

(nee Peet)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ethel Sally McKay (nee Peet) on Thursday November 9 at Orchard Terrace Care Centre in Stoney Creek at the age of 86. Cherished wife of the late Frank of 35 years. Cherished daughter of the late William Arnold and Ethel Gertrude. Beloved mother of Mike (Sherrie), Susan (pre-deceased), Joanne (Dan). Much loved mother-in-law of Michael Hodson (Cathy). Beloved brother to the late Ronald William (Jan). Loved sister-in law to Patricia (Al), Ardath Ann, Lynn (John). Loving Aunt to Jonathan (Vanessa) and children, Scott (Andrea).

Adored Grandma of Alison, Tory (Kareem), Taylor (Colby), John, Tom, Brandon (Krisztina), Sami and Chloe.

Ethel was born in Hamilton to Gert and Arn Peet on March 22, 1937. Ethel devoted her life to her family, friends and in younger years building many memories with those in her St. Patrick’s Parish Catholic Community, Burlington. Her loss will be felt deeply by all who knew her.

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, November 19 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 934 Hwy 8, Winona, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday November 20th, 2023.

Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
