Obituary of Clara Katharina Garden

Passed away peacefully at the Village of Wentworth Heights, on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at the age of 104.  Beloved wife of the late William (1997). Loved mother of Lynda Zakrzewski (the late George) and Karon Miles.  Clara was also predeceased by her son Harvey Garden along with all of her siblings.  She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  

Born on a homestead farm in Saskatchewan,  Clara relocated to Ontario in her early twenties.   Clara was strong, resilient, caring.  She was an accomplished seamstress, upholsterer and gardener.  Clara was there to help when needed, looking in on those who lived alone, altering clothing for those hard to fit, and using her skills to manage when funds were tight.  She was funny, particularly in her later years.  She lived for over a century, through two pandemics, the depression, and enormous technological change.  She was an amazing woman who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A very special thanks goes out to everyone who cared for Clara for the last 9 years at the Village of Wentworth Heights.  Your care and compassion enabled her to live to her fullest extent to the age of 104.  We are grateful for the care you gave her.

A private burial ceremony will be held at a later time.  Cremation has taken place.
