Obituary of Shelly Lee Toohey

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Shelly Toohey, 78, of Binbrook, Ontario.  Shelly passed away October 15th at Juravinski Hospital with her husband Jack by her side.

Shelly was born in Brantford April 24^th, 1945 to Dorothy and Chester Dunsdon. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jack.  High school sweethearts, Shelly and Jack met at Saltfleet High School and married in 1967. Shelly was a sister to Gary (Gail) and Bill, beloved Mother to Shane (Leanna), Jay (Gina), Brent (Shannon), Mark (Alida) and Aimee. Loving GG (Gorgeous Grandma) to Jack, Brooks, Kai and Ellie.

Known for her smile, kindness and passion for family and friends, Shelly will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Shelly’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life and not the sadness of her passing.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service to celebrate Shelly’s life will take place in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
