Obituary of Gordon Leslie Hillgartner

With broken hearts, we announce that our brother Gordon Leslie Hillgartner of Calgary, AB, formerly from Binbrook, ON, passed away on August 14, 2023.

Gord was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Mary Hillgartner; his brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Elizabeth Hillgartner; brother-in-law Cliff Renshaw; and his long time best friend David Lindsay of Calgary.

Gord is survived by his siblings in ON, Ellen Sheldrick, Stephen Hillgartner, Gail Renshaw (the late Cliff), and Kathy Hillgartner (Mark Ongaro); as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He spent the majority of his adult life in Calgary. Gord was a carpenter by trade and was gifted as a musician and an artist. Although he had many struggles throughout his life, he rediscovered in the last few years his love of music and art.

Many thanks to the Calgary Drop-In Centre for everything they did for our brother. Also, very much appreciated, the heartfelt time and care given from the Alpha House "Angels", Janine and Melanie.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place on Friday, September 22, at 3:00 PM at the Binbrook United Church Cemetery, 3025 Cemetery Road, Binbrook, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Calgary Drop-In Centre
