Obituary of Vinetta Alexis

Vinetta Alexis, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, became a Rose in the garden of Heaven on September 10, 2023, at the beautiful age of 83. Vinetta was born and raised on the Spice Island of Grenada.

Vinetta is survived by her husband, Leroy Alexis, her children, Roger (married to Lisa) and Rosamond (married to Nigel), her grandchildren, Anthony, Alexis, Jordan, Tyler, Kassandra, and Oneil. As well as her great-grandchildren Laniah and Karter. She will also be remembered by her sister Phyllis.

Vinetta was born March 26, 1940 to her parents Gerald and Ugenia Lawrence in Grenada. She was a loving wife and mother. She bravely packed up their lives to start anew in Burlington, ON, where she became a caregiver in a nursing home. 

Vinetta was a beautiful soul to those who knew her, she was selfless and caring, and always taught her family to stand up for what they believe it and follow their own path in life. Her faith radiated from her and shined bright with each day of her life. She enjoyed her flower garden back in Grenada and took pride in taking care of everything and everyone. She will be deeply missed, and never forgotten by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, September 17, 2023 for a Funeral Service at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
