Obituary of Marjan Svoljsak

December 4, 1939 – August 29, 2023

Loving husband to Amalija, for 55 years, and devoted father to his two sons David and Frank. Giving and loyal big brother to Uncle Joe. Like many of his generation, Marjan emigrated to Canada in the early 1960’s, chasing opportunity and a better life. Hard work paid off and he built a great home for the love of his life and their family. Stoic was always used to describe him. His actions always spoke for their virtuous nature. Sadly passed away in the ICU at Juravinski Hospital on Tuesday, August 29, having succumbed to a number of illnesses that took their toll on our brave and strong hero.

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 3-5 p.m. Vigil prayers 3 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory The Great Slovenian Church, 125 Centennial Parkway N., Hamilton on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery.
