Obituary of Ana Doma

Passed away peacefully, after a valiant battle, on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the age of 79, at Margaret’s Place Hospice, with her loving family by her side. Dearly loved mother of David (Mari Rae) and Julie. Cherished grandmother of Tricia Rae, Matthew and Sean, who were her absolute pride and joy. Dear sister of the late Mary, the late Ivan, Tony, Vera, Tončka, the late Nada, the late Matjaś, the late Matthew. Predeceased by her parents Matjaś and Antonija Bohnec. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, and nephews, and by her 27 godchildren. She will also be missed by her loyal friend Shadow. Ana had an absolute passion for cooking. She was proud to show her love through her countless meals, and her specialty of making strudel, to everyone she knew and cared for. She enjoyed hosting parties, celebrating with family and friends, and could always be found dancing, or singing her favourite song “Mi Se Mamo Radi”. She was always the life of the party and enjoyed spending time in her garden. She always looked forward to spending time at the trailer with her friends at BLED. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Church, 125 Centennial Parkway N., Hamilton on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. which will be livestreamed on the St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Church Facebook Page. Her final resting place will be in her hometown, Gornja Bistrica, in Slovenia. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Church or Margaret's Place would be greatly appreciated. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
