Obituary of Anne Duralia
"A mother holds her children's hands for a while, their hearts forever.”
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mom at St. Peter’s Hospital-Palliative Care Unit, Hamilton, Ontario on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Beloved wife for 65 years to the late Mark (2016). Cherished mother of Nancy (Jim), Patricia (Rob) and Julie (John). Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Paul, Daniel (Krystal), Ian (Andrea), Kimberly (Adam), Annie, David and predeceased by her precious granddaughter Laura. Dear great-grandmother to Luke, William, Jaina, Henry and Nora. Much loved sister of Mary (late Blake) and brother-in-law Rod. Predeceased by her beloved sisters Julie and Teresa and brother Mike. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Anne was born in Quebec to beloved parents Michael and Anna. She was the eldest of 5 children. The family moved to a fruit farm in Beamsville when she was 15 and she worked on the farm until she moved to Hamilton where she married and raised her family. The visits to the old farm, with all of her family gathered together, the seasonal celebrations over the years and many family vacations brought her great joy and we are thankful for all the memories we’ve shared together. Anne will be remembered for her generous heart, her loving nature and the love she shared with her family. She missed her wonderful husband every day since his passing and we can take comfort that they are together again. Rest peacefully Mama, “may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest”. The family would like to thank Dr. J. Solomon and all the 24/7 nurses and care teams at St Peter’s Palliative Unit for the care, compassion and kindness given to Anne and our family during the past two weeks. Thank you also to staff and residents of The Jacob Senior Living for the kindness and care shown to Mom in her new home over the last 2 years. Cremation has taken place.
