Obituary of Alexander Zawhorodny

Peacefully on June 13th 2023 at the age of 75 years.  Beloved husband for almost 50 years to Debra.  Loving father of Christopher (Carley) and Michael.  Cherished Dido of Sierra and Christopher.  Also survived by his mother Erika.  Alex was a proud longtime member and church executive of St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Hamilton.  Alex enjoyed bowling and playing golf in his free time.  He was a longtime employee at Stelco with 36 years of service before his retirement.  Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, June 18th from 2-5 p.m. with Panachyda at 4:30 p.m.  Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 19th at 11 a.m.  Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
