Obituary of Sybren Catier

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sybren Catier on Friday, April 21, 2023, in his 96th year, at St. Joseph’s Satellite Health facility. Beloved husband of Adriana Catier, v.d. Laan, of 76 years. He was born in Franeker, Friesland to Hendrik and Rosa Catier. Predeceased by brother John and sister Ida Visser. Beloved father of Hennie (Paul), Mary (Brian), Andy (Kim), and Marg (Doug). Beloved Opa to Adriana (Ron), Paula, Rick (Heather), Rob (Shelley)., Steve (Kerry), Hollie (Tim), Jennie (Paul), Carey (Marvin) and Mike (Kara). Great Opa to 16 great-grandchildren and Great Great Opa to 2 great-great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
