Obituary of Robert (Roy) Walker

Roy passed after a sudden and brief illness at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton on March 25, 2023.

Born in Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland on May 3, 1947, Roy graduated from Dartmouth Royal Naval College and after a short visit to Canada in 1966 fell in love with the Canadian life and never left.

Roy enjoyed a long and respected Sales career at Stelco and Serevco.  He built and maintained lifelong friendships within the steel community.

Reunited with his Mother Annie Anderson (nee Bennett) and sister Linda Anderson and survived by his beloved wife Liz (“Saint Elizabeth”) Walker, sisters Irene Tecchi (nee Anderson) and Jeanette Hines (nee Walker) and brother Richard Bennett.

Roy will be remembered in the hearts of many as a great storyteller with an uncanny memory.  He was a lover of fine food, travel, single malt scotch, golf, and music from the 1950's & 1960's.

Roy requested no service and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Children's Wish Foundation, an organization close and dear to his heart.
