Obituary of James (Jim) William Reekie

Suddenly at his home in Stoney Creek, on Saturday, February 25, 2023, in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Dell. Loving father of Brieanne Reekie and her companion Armand Banks and Alisha McLellan and her husband Matt. Cherished grandfather of Willa and George. Loved son of Jean and the late Bill Reekie. Will also be sadly missed by his siblings Nancy Diliberto (Ralph), Cathy Long (Greg), and Edwin along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend Ed Iwanchuk. Jim was everyone’s friend, loved by all, full of stories and enthusiasm. He was passionate about his family and friends, his dogs, home and music. Jim was retired form Stelco as an industrial millwright after 30 years of service. The last 20 years he has worked with his good friend Frank McLellan in the home renovation business. Jim was a member for many years of the Winona Men’s Club and was very involved in the Winona Peach Festival. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home  Chapel on Thursday, March 2nd at 10:30 a.m. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
