Obituary of Ernest (Ernie) William Nesbitt

August 30, 1929 to January 31, 2023

Ernie passed away peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton Ontario after living a full and happy life. He is survived by his wife Florence Lombardo, daughter Lynne Garrod (Phil), and sons Randy (Deborah), Paul (Tim), Peter (Patti), Ernest (Monica) and Chris. Remembered by Rose Nesbitt. Ernie was the ever-proud Gigi of 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was very involved in the Credit Union movement during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Former General Manager of the Hamilton Wentworth Credit Union, served in many positions on the Ontario and Canadian Credit Union Boards as well as Cumis.  Later Ernie was very active within the Kitchener Waterloo Hotel and Motel Association, and then with the Ontario Hotel and Motel Association. His board involvement never ended as Ernie served on the board at Edgewater Village in Port Charlotte where he and Florence wintered for many years. Thank you to Kim Russell and the staff at St. Elizabeth Villa Retirement Home and Nurse Caren, 3E at the Juravinski.  Cremation has taken place. There will be a Funeral Mass along with a Celebration of Life will take place  at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Parish, 200 Mount Albion Road in Hamilton on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11 a.m..  Arrangements entrusted to Donald V.
