Obituary of Helen Mary Faiella

Helen Mary Faiella (nee Leone)

Peacefully passed away at the Heritage Green Nursing Home on the 16th of January, 2023 at the young age of 91.  Helen was born to Carmela and Pietro Leone of Rochester, New York.  On a visit to Hamilton in 1953 she met Raffaele (Ralph) Faiella of Introdacqua, Italy and they married in 1954.  Together they raised two children, Lorraine Faiella of Stoney Creek and Ralph Faiella (wife Lisa, son Benjamin) of Wasaga Beach, Ontario.  Helen leaves behind her sister Anna Pease (the late Charlie) of Rochester, New York and is predeceased by siblings Josephine (Bernardino), Dorothy (Chuck), Dominic and Anthony (Shirley).

Helen was the loved daughter-in-law of the late Lucia and Raffaele Faiella.  She leaves behind her sister-in-law Elda Faiella (the late Anthony) of Hamilton and is predeceased by in-laws Piacentina (Americo), Secondina (Pasquale), Luigi and Maria (Frank).  Helen has many cherished nephews, nieces and cousins throughout Canada, United States and Italy.  Helen and Ralph also had a vast network of friends and paesani in Hamilton, Rochester, and Florida where they spent the last 30 winters as snow birds.  Helen was a loving and caring person who will be missed by all. Cremation has taken place.  A private family service and interment will be held at a later date.
