Obituary of Donald Stuart Harper

HARPER, Donald Stuart (P.Eng.) Peacefully with his family by his side, at Extendicare Hamilton on Friday, April 13, 2012, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Joan. Loved father of Doug (Sandra), James (Mary), Keith (Mary-Anne). Predeceased by his daughter Donna (Kevin Hrozjak). Loved grandpa of Shawn, Nicole, Steven, Danielle, Kendall, Jason, Rachel, Shane. Dear brother of Bernice Harper. Don was a member of Club 60, a member of Stoney Creek United Church, an avid golfer, a retired Mechanical Engineer with Trane Canada who worked on many HVAC systems in Southern Ontario, and a founding member of the ASHRAE chapter in Hamilton. Friends and Family will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. In Don’s memory, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family. A heartfelt thankyou to Dr. Potter, Marilyn, Tina, Bren and all the staff at Extendicare (Dundurn Wing) for their care, and support over the last five years. Know that we greatly appreciate all of your hard work and for providing us with a peace of mind knowing that our Dad was cared for in a safe and loving environment.
