Tim, Jacqueline and Matthew, I am so saddened to learn of Joanne's passing. I have always admired Joanne since I first met her at Bishop Ryan and was able to tell her that when I caught up with her back in at a class reunion. She was such a beautiful person and I still remember her and Joanne Ranger playing their guitars and harmonizing at a high school coffee house. She told me about her challenges and I was sorry to learn that she was off when my twin grandsons were in the neonatal unit at McMaster. How fortunate they would have been to have had here looking after them. Joanne had achieved so much during her time - an incredible role model. She has loved, helped and cared for so many people and I feel so lucky to have been touched by her during her brief time here on earth. My deepest condolences to you, Tim, to your children, Jacqueline and Matthew, and to the rest of Joanne's friends, family and loved ones. You have lost on angel on earth, but she lives on in all that she has touched and watches over you from heaven.

To all of Joanne’s family. Joanne was an amazing woman she was kind, thoughtful and loved being a mother to her children. I had the privilege of
Working with Joanne in several settings and also worked with her sister. It’s very difficult to understand why this has happened. I hope that memories will help you all move through this significant loss. Joanne was a very strong woman.

Dear Tim, Jacqueline and Matthew,
I am so sorry to hear of Joanne's sudden passing. We took this picture at our Book Club December 3 and our summer pool party. She was there full of her usual good humour and kindness. She was an inspiration on how she faced her illness with courage and determination.
Any time is difficult to lose someone you love. It is so much harder during the holidays.
I surround you all with love and care. May you be comforted by the wonderful memories.

It has been a privilege calling you, Joanne, friend for over fifty seven years. Together we have shared our childhood (Stoney Creek), elementary school (St. Martin's and St. Francis), high school (Bishop Ryan), university (McMaster Nursing) and professional nursing careers. In all those years, we shared our dreams, worries, heartbreaks, milestones, and much joy.
During our adult lives with the responsibilities of marriage, raising children, work, health, caring for parents, etc, we sometimes had periods of absence, but always reconnected. It was as if no time had passed and all the love, humor, and friendship that we shared always came through.
Joanne, you have been taken before your time, and I will always carry you with me. Until we meet again.
Love, Kathleen Sill.
Dear Tim, Jacqueline, and Matthew.
Myself, Terry, and our children would like to offer you our deepest condolences on the passing of Joanne. She was a remarkable woman, with a loving heart and nurturing soul. No words can express the loss that you are all feeling. You all will be remembered in our thoughts.
Love, Kathleen, Terry, Corey, and Colin.

Dear Tim, Jacqueline, Matthew and extended family,
So sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved mother and wife. She was beautiful in every way. Calm and gentle in manner, giving in kindness and compassion throughout her life and her life’s work. That kindness and gentleness was her gift to all who knew her, and a legacy to you her family, and one that we hope will bring you peace and consolation in the times to come. May God Bless you all; may you cherish all the “beautiful” memories you made together as a family and all your special moments you had together with her in your hearts; and may you always celebrate Joanne as the “loving and giving” woman, wife and mother that she was.
With our sincere condolences and prayers,
Ian, Laura, Adrian, and Matthew

Joanne was the first person I worked with this summer when I joined the team at McMaster, and immediately made me feel so welcome. Her love and devotion for her work and family was so evident. She will be missed by many.

Sending my most sincere condolences to Joanne's family. I really enjoyed getting to know Joanne and working with her at McMaster in her most recent position. She was always so kind and thoughtful, and it was obvious the love she had for her children and husband. We will really miss her.
