With the pride of her Danish etymology, and with the will and interest in her Danish roots, Anna wanted to maintain contact with her Danish family. Our cousin Anna had an exceptional life, with great generosity towards her family and friends. After dedicating her life to helping others as a doctor, Anna lost the fight to cancer herself. As Danish family members, and on behalf of Anna's Danish ancestry, we wish strength for her survivors. Our condolences and a final greeting from Kirsten og Kai, Denmark.

Deepest Condolences to Anna’s family & friends. She was an amazing, kind woman with a great sense of humour. I first met Dr.Hope about 45 years ago at the old General when three of us were riding the elevator. The other person was Dr Finn & he was staring at my name tag, pinned to my uniform. He realized that I was getting uncomfortable so explained that he had a lot of relatives named Hope & wondered if we were related. I explained that my husband was from Scotland & had no family in Canada. Dr. Anna followed me off the elevator to ask the same question & I gave the same answer. It was a pleasant surprise to find that she was also a camper at the Germania Park & we had many visits on decks & at different functions in the park. I found her to be a very brave woman during her last year visiting at the park. She will be sorely missed by many of the campers. I always felt that we had a special connection, sharing the same last name.
Sincerely,
Jeannie & Hank Hope

One of many memories of our dear Neighbour was back in 2010. She happened to stop by to speak to one of the boys (Ethan) about dog walking and some gardening she wanted done for the week. We had just been to the doctors in regard to our newest child who had been diagnosed with a cold. As soon as she saw our youngest, she recommended attending the ER or seeing a pediatrician right away. We followed her advice, and our child was correctly diagnosed with a life-threatening disorder. Without her expertise, caring, and fast response it could have been much more serious. Dr Anna was an integral part of our family in addition to being a wonderful part of our community. She will be missed greatly. Her generous soul, kind nature, and beautiful personality will be remembered.

What an absolute pleasure and privilege it was to have known Anna and to share some of the many dinners, birthdays, holiday celebrations, and vacations she enjoyed with Alex, Sue, and their families. She always made us feel like part of the family. Anna was feisty, witty, and energetic while at the same time constantly maintaining such an admirably calm and composed demeanour. Her devotion and love for her kids and grandkids was palpable and, no doubt, she will be sorely missed. May you find peace and strength in your memories of her.

Warmest condolences,

Our most sincere condolences to you all at this sad time. It is so difficult to say goodbye to someone so special in your heart. Take comfort in the fact that your Mom is free from the struggles she endured. She will always be with you as she is a part of you and will dwell always in your memories and in your heart.

I am so sad that my dear Auntie Anna has passed. As my godmother, she was such an incredible (and hilarious) presence in my life. She was there for many of my big life events and she was often the one who memorialized the event with her amazing photos and videos (she even did the video for my wedding)! But my most precious memories are from the years that Anna and my mom co-owned the ski cottage in Humphrey, New York. It was always an adventure and she brought so much fun and joy everyday. Much love to Suzie and Alex - your mom made such an impact on everyone she met. Sending lots of love and prayers.

Dr. Hope was my family doctor for almost 35:years. I was not looking forward to when she retired but she worked hard and found someone to take over her practice that would care about her patients like she did. Anna was compassionate and caring and empathetic — one in a million. My condolences to her family. The photo you posted is perfect. That is exactly how she greeted everyone everyday.

For over 25 years we have lived across the street from Anna.
Anna was always open to sharing her wisdom, lending an ear, or giving a hug if you needed one.
I am going to miss our porch visits and you shouting hello across the street at me!
Rest in peace, my friend. Love you.

Anna and I met 60 years ago at McGill and were roommates our last 2 years of undergrad. We have been friends ever since, and as an only child she was the sister I never had. Over the years we visited, shared a ski cottage and watched our families grow. She was our younger daughter’s godmother and took her role quite seriously. She was always Auntie Anna to our family!
Suzi and Alex, you have been her rock during all this. She loved you and your families so much.
Linda and Caroline, she was always your big sister, and delighted in your nightly chats.
Pierre and I will miss her terribly - our shared memories, our long chats and the regular frog gifts!
Blessings dear friend. You fought the good fight all the way

When we moved across the street from Anna ten years ago, she walked over to tell me she hoped I wasn't planning on ripping out some plants I was trimming. Although I wasn't looking for a new friend, it quickly became clear that I had one. We have enjoyed countless hours sitting on either her porch or ours, discussing everything. Anna was kind, outgoing, intelligent and compassionate. Her sense of humour, interest in everything and everyone, love of animals, and deep love for her family were integral in how she lived her life. We are so grateful to have become part of Anna's circle, and were enriched by spending time with her. Our deepest condolences to her loved ones.

Anna was an amazing lady. We're grateful for the opportunity to get to know her - and her furry friends - especially over the past 2 years. We appreciated her kindness and our shared enjoyment of gardens/gardening. Her determination, wisdom and humor will be missed but not forgotten ...

My deepest condolences to Dr Hope’s family. She lived a simple but grand life. She cared for her patients deeply and with great compassion that all doctors could learn from. It was always a pleasure and privilege to have known her and to have discussed medical cases as colleagues for almost 20 years. Anna will be dearly missed by those lives that she touched.
