Obituary of Gordon Ross Gilbert

November 9, 1942 - September 23, 2022

Passed away peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital surrounded by family, after a long courageous battle. Beloved husband and best friend of Beverly for 59 years. Loved father Karen and her husband David and Graham and his wife Leanne. Cherished grandfather of Kaitlyn (John) and Megan (Ryan). Dear brother of Dennis (Lois) and sisters-in-law Joan Miller and Janet Turner. Predeceased by siblings Elva, Dorothy, Bill, Bob, Ted, Joan and brother-in-law John Ayerst. Will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and incredible friends Gord was a long time employee at Stelco and an Elder & Member of Ker United Church.  He was the kindest man who was always there for everyone. He enjoyed golf, fishing, the great outdoors and a hot cup of coffee. Thank you to Dr Goffin, Cheryl, Dr. Vlahovic and the oncology department. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Thursday, September 29th from 11 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
