Obituary of H. A. Marguerite Groves

(nee Scott)

February 17th 1914 – August 5th 2022

Marguerite passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 108 years.

She was predeceased by her husband William Lawrence Groves, son Lawrence John Groves, and daughter Nancy Marguerite Groves.

She is survived by her son William Scott Groves (Hilary), Daughter-in-law Frances Ann Groves, Daughter Barbara Kay Cicero, son Robert James Groves, and daughter Beverley Ann Minnie.

Marguerite is also survived by 13 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

She was always caring and generous, especially to those in need, travelled widely, and was always interested in current events.  In the last several years, she learned to use her computer to document family history, with a massive collection of memories and materials. She remained in her own home until very recently and took great joy and solace looking out over her extensive gardens.

Family and friends will be received at the Stoney Creek Church of Christ, 105 King Street East, Stoney Creek on Saturday,  August 27th from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.  As an expression of sympathy, donations to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice or the charity of your choice would be appreciate.  Notes of sympathy and condolence may be made at www.donaldvbrown.ca
