Obituary of Marija “Mira”  Spiler

Passed away suddenly and peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the Hamilton General Hospital at the age of 78. Beloved wife of Michael for 59 years. Devoted mother of Robert, Carmen Horvat (Joe). Cherished grandmother of Evan (Sasha), Julian (Kelsey). Dear sister of Ivica and Milena and their families in Slovenia. Mira was a loving wife, amazing mom, and fantastic grandma. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and her love of life. She enjoyed dancing, gardening and baking birthday cakes filled with lots of TLC. She had a smile for everyone and gave the warmest of hugs. Special thanks to the staff of Hamilton General ICU for all of your kind care. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Prayers 2 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Church, 125 Centennial Pkwy. N., Hamilton, on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of The Angels Cemetery.
