Obituary of Bernice Lezon

(Mazewski) 

Passed away peacefully on May 21 , 2022 in her 89^th year.  Mom is survived by her loving children Richard, Dianne (Ed), John (Lori), Christine (Iain) and David. Cherished grandmother of Jeremy (Lydian), Nicole, Danielle, Andrea, Elyse (Aaron),  Christopher, Justine, Lucas, Alicia, Alexander, Ethan and Michael. Great-Grandmother to Quinten and Owen. Bernice will be dearly missed by her loving cousins Steve, Walter (Joan) and Emil Zamora, Peter and Tom Seiminski, along with many relatives in France and Poland and her dear friend Steve Grzenda. Predeceased by her parents Alexander Mazewski and Mary Danchuk, husband Edward Lezon and her daughter-in-law Kelly Lezon. Mom made friends wherever she went which leaves behind many going back to elementary school days.  She was never happier than when the family surrounded her at dinners and drew her greatest pleasure from the lives and successes of her children and grandchildren. Mom started her career at Westinghouse and soon took cosmetology and opened her own salon for 15 years.  She then was given the opportunity to pursue a teaching career with the Lincoln County Board until 1994 when she retired. Retirement afforded her time to explore many other interests such as travelling, curling, and cross country skiing.  She was a long time volunteer with the Good Shepherd, sang with the Kaleidoscope singers, and the St. Francis Xavier parish choir.  Her outgoing nature, easy laughter and quick smile, along with the love and devotion of her family and friends will never be forgotten. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, from 2- 4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Highway 8 and Green Rd., Stoney Creek, on Thursday, May 26^th at 10:30 a.m.  followed by interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the SPCA or the Good Shepherd would be appreciated.
