Obituary of Emilija Ferko

(nee Hull)

Born February 7, 1938, in Dolnji Slaveci, Slovenia. Passed away peacefully, at St. Peter's Hospital, on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the age of 84. Emilija is survived by her beloved husband Karol Ferko of 59 years. Cherished mother to her son Mario Ferko (Jackie) and their children Devin, Nolan and Marie; son Frank Ferko (Danielle) and their children Madeleine, Noah and Chloe; daughter Martina Di Francesco (Vince) and their children Ryan and Adam. Survived by niece Zora Sayers (nee Hull) and nephew Cyril Hull. Dear sister-in-law of Irene Cormanic (nee Ferko). She will also be missed by her many family in Slovenia. Emilija was an active member and served as a past president of the Catholic Women’s League at St. Gregory’s parish. Thank you very much to Dr. T and the nurses at St. Peter's for making our Mom's passing comfortable and peaceful. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, April 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Prayers at 2 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at St. Gregory the Great Church, 125 Centennial Parkway N., Hamilton at 10 a.m. Emilija will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, 681 Mud St. E., Stoney Creek.
