Obituary of Claude Thomas Broughton

Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Sunday March 27th, 2022, in his 91st year. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years Joan Ethel (nee Goatley). Dear brother of Marvin (Doris), Wilma (Joe) Bujas and brother-in-law to Al Goatley (Barb). Also predeceased by nephew Doug and his wife Donna Gaye, and lovingly remembered by nephews Bob (Diana) and Dan (Cathy) Bujas, and 3 happy subsequent generations. Claude will be missed by Joan’s cousin Geraldine (Bob) Donovan and too many friends and neighbours on Alba Street to be mentioned, with special thanks and appreciation to Cathy and Dan Pergentile whose support was unwavering.  Claude’s Great Niece Tammy Cochrane (nee Broughton) and Sean would like to thank Claude’s care providers and friends at Amica Stoney Creek as well as the medical staff and custodian of St. Joseph’s 4th Floor Mary Grace who provided exceptional care and comfort in Claude’s final days and hours. Cremation has taken place.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA would be appreciated. A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
