The Strecker Family would like to offer our condolences to the family of Robert McDougall. Bob ( Mickey ) was always so friendly and helpful whenever we had a problem with one of our vehicles. We could trust McDougalls Garage to do what was needed and nothing more. We really appreciated the times we would pull up with a low tire or a squeecy noise and he would look after it. He'd say No Charge " I'll get you next time" Businesses and operators like McDougalls are far and few in today's business world. I just saw this notification and was saddened as my youngest sister Suzie still went to McDougall's Garage; back in the day Mic and dad were best friends and dad, Bernard 'LEFTY' Kay, is godfather to Bryan, the eldest son; I recall as a teenager Marg calling the house and speaking with mom, Anne. McDougall's Garage has to be one of the oldest original businesses in Stoney Creek; I believe originally it was a blacksmith shop owned by Mic's dad; GOD Bless to you Mister McDougall ... Heartfelt condolences, Bob, Lynda and Family I will always remember Mr. McDougall. Even though he was obviously busy with work, he stopped what he was doing to help a bewildered little girl, completely unknown to him, fill her flat bike tire with air. It’s just the type of person he was. That little girl has not forgotten…even 57 years later. In sympathy for your loss Barbara Sales (nee Bruch)

Robert was my Uncle. He was from a family of four siblings, and was the only boy. My Mom was Marion, the eldest girl. Robert was known by many in Stoney Creek because the business has been there over 100 years. He was kind, giving, and always had a smile, and that wonderful laugh. He was a gentle man. He will be missed terribly by his family.
