Obituary of Olga Elsie Wozny

It is with great sadness we note the peaceful passing of our mother Olga Elsie Wozny (nee Boruk), at Shalom Village on March 19, 2022. Mom preferred to be called Ollie and we never heard anyone call her by her given name. Born and raised in Bienfait Saskatchewan, she moved to Ontario with her family and was pursued here by our father George who had also been raised in the same small Saskatchewan town.  She was a wonderful and caring mother, grandmother, homemaker, cook and inspiration. A long-time member of Stoney Creek United Church, Ollie loved to dance and created a beautiful garden at home on Battlefield Drive where she lived for over 65 years. Proud mother of George, nicknamed Geordie (Marie), Mark (Kathy Renison), Kathryn Fenton (Steve).  Grandmother to Natalie & Stephanie Wozny, Kelsey Charlebois (Brandon), Andrea Schweyer (Jesse), Paula Falk (Michael) and Daniel Fenton. Great-grandmother to Lincoln, Paisley, Hudson and Summer Falk and Grace, Audrey and Evelyn Schweyer. Our Mother was shaped by the Great Depression and was generous to a fault. She has gone on to join George, her husband of over 67 years who passed on February 3, 2020.  A private family service has been held.  The family welcomes donations in Ollie’s memory to the Ukrainian Relief Fund or the Alzheimer’s Society as expressions of sympathy.
