Obituary of Greta Joyce Halcrow

HALCROW, Greta Joyce (nee Learmonth) Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Mattawa Hospital at the age of 86. Born in Smiths Falls, Ontario, to Albert and Sarah Learmonth, and later moved to Hamilton. Survived by her husband Fred Halcrow, daughter Lynda Cazabon, (Claude) of Lacombe, AB, and son Kenneth James Schultz, (Karen Dodds) of North Bay, ON. Also survived by four grandchildren, Kimberley, Charles, Kevin and Kristen, and seven great-grandchildren, Jessica, Robyn, Nathan, Kyle, Jemma, Amber and Caeleigh. Predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters, and her first husband, Harold Ernst Schultz. The family will receive friends at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, March 13th from 2 until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. A private family interment will be held at the Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society will be gratefully acknowledged by her family. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, the Mattawa Hospital and the staff of Algonquin Nursing Home, Barclay House Retirement Home and the staff and caregivers of C.C.A.C. (Paramed Home Support Workers). Special thank you to her nurse, Lisa for the excellent care given to our beloved mother.
