Aunt Margaret - an amazing woman - an amazing life. She will be missed by many.
I can recall fondly the wonderful Christmas dinners that were hosted at the family home and then afterward watching the family videos.... a bygone era.

My condolences to the entire Janack family on the loss of your Matriarch. This community has lost a great lady. Margaret Haines Janack had a brilliant mind and a heart as big as all outdoors. She had wisdom, insight and love and was willing to share these qualities with anyone in need. I was privileged to have her friendship and support for many years and most especially during the two darkest periods of my life. I am, and will always be, deeply grateful for having Margaret in my life. Jean Coombs

To all the Janack family I wish to extend my condolences on the loss of your loving mom. I remember many a day playing around the property and in the house. Always with your mom and dad patiently sharing their family home and space to many of us neighboring children. The exploring of the barn to see if any bats or spiders, running out back and skating on the rink. Your moms tender voice and guidance still can be heard. Sheila Halcrow-Cherriere

Mary and family. I have such wonderful memories of spending time at the farm in Winona. Your parents were always welcoming. Your Mom was our taxi when we needed her. Lots of fun. RIP Mrs. Janack- Linda Pelletier (Legedza)

Janack Family
My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family
Back being one of the Winona kids sharing school classes with Anne and Margaret, a fond memory of Mrs Janack and her
kitchen was being asked to go pick Fiddel Heads, as she and her boiling pot waited patiently for our return .... yum yum
A very welcoming, busy home

It was with a mix of sadness and nostalgia that I read of the passing of Marg. To all the Janack children and their families, please accept sincerest condolences in the loss of your Mom. Living across the street from Ed and Marg, on James Avenue, in Stoney Creek, we watched the Janack family take shape, as each of the children arrived on the scene. As described in the obituary, the house was a bee hive of activity. Marg was an amazing woman and she had an incredible life.
Sincerely,
Bob Miller

Thanks so much Mary. We Janack children also loved our Auntie Doris and couldn't wait for her to come look after us when our parents occasionally went away. Her famous Hawaiian Hamburgers, Strawberry Delight and of course her Winne-the-Pooh collection that we cherished as much as she did. We all think of her often. Mary

To Peter, Doug, Marg, Mary, Anne and Liz; My most sincere condolences for the loss of your warm and generous Mother. Your Mum was so very patient, welcoming and a great sport with all of us children that landed in your home on a daily basis. I often remember her bursting out in laughter over something one of the children or, many of the children had gotten up to. When I reflect, I marvel at her ability to keep a level head in a home full of dogs, cats, goat, horses, children and a regular stream of neighbourhood kids. May she rest in peace, within the warm arms of her loving husband, Dr. Janack (as I knew him)..... Love, Sally -- one of those regular kids that visited the Janack household.

To my dear friend Liz and all your siblings,
What a wonderful mom you guys were lucky to have ! Loved coming over to your house to play tag and hide and seek. Can see your mom sitting in your kitchen as I write this. The photo of the house lit up took me back in time to those days.
Peace and prayers to you all. Debbie Rice

Margaret gave me this picture by Margaret Tennant along with the following verse which she said was framed and displayed on her wall while she was growing up. These are now displayed in my dining room and will always remind me of her spirit. I will sorely miss my dear friend and our soulful conversations.
I MEANT to do my work today -
But a brown bird sang in the apple-tree
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling to me.
And the wind went sighing over the land,
Tossing the grasses to and fro,
And a rainbow held out its shining hand -
So what could I do but laugh and go?

From the current custodians of the Winona Janack House, we send our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to the entire Janack family.
In honour of Margaret (who, to us, will always be remembered fondly as Mrs Janack), we light up her home because she, like your father, grandfather, and great grandfather, was a beacon to this community for years.
With light, we honour her, Dr Janack and all the Janacks near and far. As long as we remain here, you are always welcome back home. God bless you all.

What a lovely gesture and thanks so much for the beautiful photos. We Janack children and our friends had great times in that house, the barn, the fields around and the skating rink my dad would create every winter. And of course mom always had the kitchen full of friends and often pans of bread rising on the radiators. Thanks so much for this. Mary in Victoria, BC
