Gord has always had a special place in my heart. As a youngster he was one of the Awana leaders that I always chatted with and gravitated to. Somewhere along the way he gave me a nick name and from that moment on everytime he saw me he called me a "big galloot". (not even too sure how to spell it!). Many times were spent at his house for young peoples, then as I became an adult I would browse his wood carvings and his wood burnings. I am blessed to have a couple of them. We received his old dining room table and chairs ( that came with a great story about a stapler!!) and my visits to him in The Home were always a joyful time, reminiscing about the old days. Gord, I thought of you often. I will miss you dearly.

I have many happy memories of our early days at BETHANY with Gord and Lil, who welcomed us into their social circle in the mid 60' into the 1980's. Vivienne and I would often after a late Sunday night with them and Bill and Win, mixing fun light conversation with a bit of more serious theological discussion, go home with s good load of spare calories to burn off.
He was a steady reliable friend who will be greatly missed, And now he will have better answers than I could give to his many questions about what happens when we die. "With Christ far better."
So sorry CoVid kept us away from the visitation, but you are very much in our prayers . Remember with the help of Kayla and Josiah, Gord and I SHARED A GREAT GRANDCHILD!.

My deepest condolences to Gord's family, I know he will be so missed. I loved my chats with Gord at the Bethany Seniors group. I remember our first trip to the Mum Show at Gage Park with the group, Gord had just recently got his 'brand new car', he was quite smitten, "Never had one of those before" with the biggest grin on his face. I got to be his very first passenger. Glad it was a fairly short drive because he drove like a teenager with a new hot rod all the way to Graeme's! Gord had a great sense of humour and a twinkle in his eye, he was always listening and rarely missed a beat.

Our condolences to Gord's family with his passing. We also rejoice knowing he is now in the presence of his Savior and his beloved Lil. Madeline and I remember fondly the many conversations with Gord and Lil who were always gracious and down to earth. I especially recall and cherish the discussions with Gord at coffee break at Bethany about his work, faith, woodworking hobby. I remember on the occasions when he preached at Bethany he always referred to the "copious" notes he would have. Gord was one who did a job and did it well including dedication to family. He was a nice, gentle man who we can truly say will be missed.

My sincerest sympathies to Gord’s family in their loss. However, how exciting for Gord to now be in the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Wow!
I have many fond memories of Gord:
As a young teenager, trying to play hockey with Gord at Eastwood Park with a group of fellows from Bethany. Gord easily and literally skated rings around most of us. He was an outstanding hockey player, having honed his skills growing up in Northern Ontario.
Appreciating Gord’s many years of dedicated service at Bethany as Sunday School superintendent.
Sharing numerous annual October fun times in Myrtle Beach with Gord and Lil, along with Bill and Win Whittaker. Gord and Bill always had some fascinating shopping adventures to share. They easily outdid me for finding bargains!
Being absolutely dazzled by Gord’s incredible skill at wood carving. He created such intricate and beautiful wildlife carvings.
It must have been quite the celebration for Gord to finally be reunited with Lil and Lyn.

Debbie and I want to express our condolences to all the members of Gord's family. We often sat in front of him and I remember little taps on the shoulder as he greeted us on Sunday mornings. We were also impressed with his carving prowess. On one visit to the house, he gave me a little set of diamond carving bits which I still have! We both remember Gord with great fondness.
