Obituary of Claude Eybel
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Claude Eybel on December 10, 2021 surrounded by his children and his extended family at Wentworth Heights. Predeceased by his parents Clarence and Dorothy Eybel and brother Gary Eybel (Shirley). He will be greatly missed by his children Lenard Eybel (Patti) and Karen Cowie (Rick). Beloved brother of Rodney (Sue), Joanne Carrothers (Hugh) and Spence (Susan). Papa will be forever missed by his granddaughters Heather (Derek), Brittany (Phil), Courtney (Malcom) and Melissa (Nathan). Cherished Great-Grandpa of his 6 great-grandsons.
Claude worked for 20 years at Proctor and Gamble and left there to join his father-in-law in the insurance business. In 1978 Claude took over the insurance business which became Binbrook Insurance Brokers. Claude enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his trees and vegetable garden, square dancing and playing cards. Claude was a volunteer fireman with the Binbrook Fire Department for many years and a long time volunteer with the Binbrook Agricultural Society. We would like to thank the staff at Wentworth Heights for caring for Claude for the past two and half years.
Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 3-7 p.m. Cremation will follow. A Celebration of Claude’s life with interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Knox Presbyterian Church, Binbrook, would be appreciated.
