Obituary of Robert Arthur Gross

GROSS, Robert (Bob) Arthur Promoted to Glory on Saturday, August 13, 2011, after a lengthy battle with cancer, in his 80th year. Robert leaves his wife Elethia (Lee) (Jolly), children Robert (Simone) of Windsor, Debora Robbins (Mark) of Barry’s Bay, Kimberley (Julie) of Toronto and Scott (Karen) of Hamilton. Loving grandfather to David, Timothy, Daniel, Nathan, Melissa, Kathryn, Miranda and Charley. Great-grandpa to Ayden. Parents were Arthur Gross and Myrtle Gross (Bailey) both predeceased. Robert leaves one sister Diane Haggarty (Gross) of Philadelphia, PA. Bob was an active bandsman in the Salvation Army and was employed by AVRO Aircraft Canada as a tool and die maker, Orenda Engines and Indal Tech. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Dad gave us a wonderful legacy of faith in God, service to others, the joy of family and FUN!! Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Winterberry Heights Salvation Army, 300 Winterberry Dr., Stoney Creek on Wednesday, August 17 at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter’s Hospital, Juravinski Cancer Centre or the Winterberry Heights Salvation Army Band would be appreciated by the family.
