Obituary of Edith May Hayes

February 3, 1928 - September 14, 2021

After a life well lived, our dear Mother Edith passed away during the early hours of Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at the age of 93. Predeceased by her loving husband Frank (2006). Devoted Mother to Elaine Strecker (Chester) and Valerie Hayes (John Taylor). Cherished Grandmother of Adam Strecker (Kim) and Ian Strecker (Julie). Great-Grandmother of Madelyn, Jackson, Dean, Jessica, Emily. Step-Grandmother of Jennifer Taylor and her daughters, Anastasia and Mia. Great-Great-Grandmother of Peyton and Wesley. Mum’s humour, quick wit and full of life character touched many.  She was affectionately known as “Granma Love”. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Deer Park Villa, Grimsby for their kind and compassionate care. Friends and extended family will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Sunday, September 19 from 1-4 p.m. A private family interment will be held at Mountview Gardens Cemetery. Donations to Mum’s charity of choice Covenant House for Homeless Children and Youth, would be gratefully appreciated.
