I was saddened to see the announcement of Bob's passing. He was an integral part of a very active and fun-lioving group of Saltfleet High School friends, where he was referred to as "Ernie." I had not seen him since those days of our youth, but have very fond memories of a most delightful guy who was liked and respected by all. Hello, Al Croxall here. I want to remember Bob [Whytie as we often called him to the annoyance of his mum - the kind and forebearing Mrs. Whyte]. As kids in about 1950 or so [memory of exactly which years fades], we used to gather at their home after school to watch their wonderful television set. Howdy Doody and Uncle Chichimus are tso of the fun shows that come to mind. We enjoyed a terrific childhood there many afternoons, and a great growing up in Stoney Creek in its post-war years. Rest well, Bob. we were good friends.
