Obituary of Daniel (Dragan) Orescanin 

We are shocked and devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Tata on May 2, 2021 in his 93rd year.  From difficult and humble beginnings in a war-torn Yugoslavia, he was determined to forge a better life for his family in a new country and came to Canada.  He was a skilled and proficient tradesman who graduated to supervisor working at Westinghouse Canada’s Transformer Division for 30 plus years. Tata was predeceased by his parents, Mihajlo and Marija, his brother, Dusan, and his beloved wife of 70 years, Daca.  He is survived by his children Danny (Karen), Mary (Charlie) and Michael (Susan) as well as his grandchildren whom he adored, Tamara (Jeff) and Jacob.  Tata leaves behind extended family and good friends in Hamilton, Niagara Falls, Scarborough, Bancroft, Ottawa, Calgary, Serbia, Croatia and the United States.  Cremation has taken place, as per his wishes, and a private family celebration of his life will be held at a later date.   The family would also like to extend sincere thanks to Seasons Retirement Community, his second family, with special thanks to Tracey, Shelley and staff for their devoted and loving care.
