ARMSTRONG, Alan “Army”
After a lengthy illness, Army passed away peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Saturday June 7, 2008 at the age of 86 surrounded by those he loved and who loved him. Taken from his loving wife Beverly and adoring children Janice Mochrie and her husband Bruce and Donna Vardy and her husband Bob, all of Ancaster. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Blair and Priscilla Mochrie of Burlington, Darren and Lesley Mochrie of New Hampshire, U.S.A, Cale Vardy (Tania) of Toronto and Chad Vardy (Brittnaye) of Hamilton. Gillian, Lisa and Natalie Mochrie will sadly miss their great-grandfather. Predeceased by his parents Florence and DeWitt Armstrong. World War II veteran-R.C.A.F. and retired employee of 45 years with Dofasco. A member of the Dofasco Recreational Club. Friends may call at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Dr., Stoney Creek on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 1pm followed by burial at Eastlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice. Army’s positive attitude and shining spirit brought joy to all who knew him.
