Obituary of Steve Markovic

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Steve Markovic on February 16, 2021 at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary Alberta. Husband of late wife, Ulla, father of Karen and Matthew (Olga) and grandfather to Alex and Jake, Steve will be sadly missed.  Born in Croatia in 1940, Steve emigrated in 1967 and soon found employment at Dofasco where he worked for 25 years. Steve and Ulla enjoyed retirement and saw the world through several ports of call. Visitation will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, on Wednesday, February 24th, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2021, in the Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery in Stoney Creek. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, in accordance with the Bereavement Authority of Ontario facial mask/coverings are required. Please register for visitation and leave notes of sympathy and condolence on Steve’s tribute page at www.donaldvbrown.ca.
