Anne was the aunt of my cousin, Jane Budnark (Hinan), and around the early fifties, she invited Jane to stay with her and Martin where they were living, there were no children yet and it seemed they were just married. I asked if I could come along and she very graciously said Yes! She was very fun loving and lovely to us: treating us like royalty. We had so much fun and laughter and ate such delicious food! The time flew by and she has been a great friend of mine ever since. Always enthusiastic and family loving; always a joy to talk with and have tea or a simple meal with. I loved her because she was such an affectionate and kind woman; loved her husband and children and all her brothers and sisters, and lived a wholesome joyful life, filled with good cooking, beautiful flowers, nature, and appreciating small things that many take for granted. We both felt very sad when Stuart McLean passed away so young; having enjoyed his books about The Vinyl Cafe and shows at Hamilton Place. (Thanks to her wonderful son in law, Dave Kelly.)
