Obituary of Cody Kristopher Speck

October 16, 1988-February 6, 2021

It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved youngest son Cody at the age of 32. Cody will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his loving parents Jeffrey and Janine (Michaud) Speck of Stoney Creek. Cody was a very proud, devoted and loving father to his son Jayden who he often referred to “my little man”, many times he was heard saying “My biggest accomplishment ever is Jayden “. Cody will be greatly missed by his siblings; Shane (Melanie Nolan), Joshua (Kelli Clause) and Brandi (Brian) Speck. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandmother Jeannette Michaud of Grand Falls, New Brunswick, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.   Predeceased by grandparents Gerald and Sarah Bernice Speck, Cyril and Betty Michaud and Maurice Michaud. He was a proud uncle to 12 nieces and nephews; Autumn (Will) Nolan, Lexi, Ashlyn, Malachi Oliver, Vanns Clause, Carter John, Cohen, Carter, Mackenzie, Laila and Rori. They will all miss him terribly as he played an important part in their lives. Cody grew up playing hockey in Stoney Creek and was an avid HABS fan his entire life. His favourite hobby was fishing with his brothers, brother-in-law, father and grandfathers. Cody was a skilled roofer for the past 17 years, a trade he learned from his dad. He had a kind gentle demeanor which was robbed from us far too soon. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 15th at 11 a.m. which will be livestreamed directly to the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home Facebook page.  Cremation to follow.   Due to Covid-19 restrictions, in accordance with the Bereavement Authority of Ontario facial mask/coverings are required.  Please visit the funeral home website to register your attendance for services due to limited space availability.  Visitors will only be accepted by scheduled appointment and will be asked to wait in their vehicle until their allotted time. If you have not registered, you will not be admitted.  Congregating on premises is prohibited.
