Obituary of Bianca Katherine (Kay) Ferroni

FERRONI, Bianca Katherine (Kay)

(nee Montelpare)

We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Bianca Katherine (Kay) Ferroni, 93, of Stoney Creek on February 3, 2021. Born July 21, 1927 next to the Brightside neighbourhood (in the shadow of the smokestacks of the city's central north end). Gone to join the Lord Jesus and the love of her life Armando Joseph, December 25th, 1979. Predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Giuglia (Ferracuti) and her brother Dario (2020) and his wife Mary (deceased). Survived by her siblings Clara Perryman (Jack), Jenny Vallesi (deceased Dutchie) and Fernando Montelpare. Kay was predeceased by her mother-in-law Brandina Ferroni Silenzi and inlaws Ollie (Gloria), Albert (Dolly), Inez (Gord Brunton), Muffy (Fred Bartolozzi), and Ida (Pio Bertuzzi). She was fiercely proud but never boastful of her four children. Anne-Marie Fritch (David), Ricky (Rosemary), Domenic (Brenda) and Bernie (Debbie) and her 8 grandchildren; Alexandra Fritch, Christopher Fritch (Emma), AJ Ferroni (Amanda), Rick Ferroni Jr. (Rachel), Andrea Ferroni, Michelle Coe (Dan), Melanie Domladovac (Mike), and Catharine McKeon (Rex) of Boston, Mass. She will be missed forever by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her many cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Bianca maintained a lifelong friendship with Mary Kent (Montesanto), her maid of honour. Moms involvement with the CWL and on the Bereavement Committee at St. Eugene's Church Hamilton, volunteering at Queen's Garden, attending daily mass and her prayer group were activities that brought joy and fulfillment after losing Armando. She will be remembered fondly for her sense of humor and love of travel, especially her trips to Porto San Giorgio and Porto San Elpidio, Marche, Italy. Her fondest memories were the trips of 2007 and 2011 to Italy with our family to celebrate her Zia Stella's 100th Birthday and her monumental climb (walker in tow) to the St. Catharine of Sienna Church in Sienna (her namesake) at 82 years old. Quote "Ricky call your brother, it's a miracle, I made it." Our thanks to Dr. Kwok and staff, Pharmacist Sam, PSW support from the LHIN and her special ladies Lani, Mable, Evelyn and Bebe who all made it possible to keep mom in her home of 67 years in Olde Stoney Creek. To the incredible medical team on Covid floor F5 at Juravinski Hospital, gratitude for your compassion and skill; Dr. Ladak, Dr. Kraeker and mom's personal nurses. A special thanks to nurse Michelle Marinovic. Due to the Covid Pandemic, a private family service will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Monday, February 8th at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on the Donald V. Brown Facebook page. The Funeral may also be viewed later at www.donaldvbrown.ca on Kay's webpage, where condolences and notes of sympathy may also be left. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to The Sisters of The Precious Blood at 154 Northcliffe Ave, Hamilton or DeMazenod Door (St. Patricks Church) 440 King St E, Hamilton and The Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice.
