Obituary of Carson Billings

On Saturday, January 2, 2021, the Lord called home Carson Billings at the age of 71. Predeceased by his parents Elwood and Florence Billings, first wife Penny Billings, his brother Horace (Lill) Webb and sister Chrystal (Gary) Jones, brother-in-law Don (Gail) Nicholson, and niece Heather Nicholson. Loving father of Dean (Sarah) and Brennan Billings. Carson is survived by his siblings Gail Nicholson and Kevin (Val) Billings, nieces Laura, Carol, Rebecca, nephews Rick, Brian, Mark, Kyle, Jason, Andrew and Aaron. Carson was born in Hainesville, New Brunswick on October 27, 1949. The family moved to Ontario in 1953, settling in Stoney Creek, with Carson living there the rest of his life. Carson graduated from Mohawk College with the “highest marks” achievement award. He loved his lifelong career in sheet metal, purchasing Frank Taggart and Sons Sheet Metal in Stoney Creek after his apprenticeship. He worked with great joy inventing solutions to practical needs. He had a special gift to help anyone in need, including his family, friends, church, and even strangers. His faith was important to him as he discovered God’s love for him and shared that with others. His family was most important to him, and he would often surprise us with just what we needed. Dad loved his extended family in New Brunswick and was always willing to go on a road trip. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A private family service and interment at Mountview Gardens Cemetery will follow. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, in accordance with the Bereavement Authority of Ontario facial mask/coverings are required.  Please visit the Funeral Home website to register your attendance for visitation due to limited space availability.  Visitors will only be accepted by scheduled appointment and will be asked to wait in their vehicle until their allotted time. Congregating on premises is prohibited. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
