I met Kristel through her older sister, Jenn. Although a few years apart, they were such close sisters that Kristel became a friend to me, too. Kristelina Ballerina.....That's what her Mom loved to call her. She was very our own dancing queen!
Kristel fought this terrible disease for 2 years. She fought with steadfast love for Ivan and the girls. She fought with hope, with dignity, with courage ,and with joy. She inspired hope and joy in everyone throughout her journey and steadfastly refused to give up.

Kristel and I met in University and as all of you know, you instantly fall in love with her.
Her radiance, her smile and her laugh. Lucky for me she was a dear friend that I shared some of my most memorable life moments with.
Kristel was my side kick travel companion after University and we set off for adventures in Europe, Mexico and Eastern Canada. She was always up for a concert or a trip back to London for Homecoming and she never forgot a birthday. She was such a smart, successful woman. Her love for Ivan was unwavering and she was a wonderful and caring mother to her beautiful girls, Tiana and Mila.
I will forever cherish the time I shared with Kristel and her family. I am honoured and grateful to have had her in my life.

I will forever cherish my memories with Kristel. I met Kristel in high school. I remember all of our fun times together as teenagers, she always had a way of somehow making me laugh hysterically. We always had fun getting ready together at her parent’s house to go out for the evening. Or the fun times we had visiting each other in University. I always admired Kristel for her positivity and kindness, her love for her family and her work ethic. It was beautiful to see Kristel with her girls, who remind me so much of her; polite, sweet girly girls who love pink and purple. My condolences to her entire family.

I met Kristel at Saltfleet High school where I attended for a short period of time. What a beautiful individual inside and out. Always the brightest smile on her face, most stunning blue eyes and an infectious laugh. Just a really, REALLY good person to everyone around her. I haven't seen her since those years but I will always remember what a lovely person she truly was.
