My father was a resident at CAMA Woodlands and that’s where I first met Gordon. My father was always quite suspicious of the clergy, but Gordon changed that with his innate goodness and generosity of spirit. My father had tremendous respect for Gordon and considered him a friend. They shared many childhood memories together of growing up on a farm in the 1940s. I am grateful to Gordon for bringing my dad to spiritual peace and for being such a comfort to him during his final years. Condolences to Jeanette and family. Ann Keys (daughter of Ross Keys)

It is with great sadness that we learned of Gordon's sudden passing. In retrospect, we shared coffee and donuts far too infrequently. During those times, Gordon always projected a warm, positive spirit. We exchanged words about family, current events and of course descriptions of his hiking through the Bruce Trail. His very life was an expression of the Christian Faith. No doubt, his passing is unfair to family and friends who will miss him, but how could hiking with the Lord and Savior through unimaginable, beautiful trails be considered a loss. Let us rejoice and praise the Lord as Gordon gazes upon His face now and forever more! Charles and Jeannine Bartha.

Gordon had a profound impact in my life while he served the Lord at Stoney Creek Alliance Church. He was a friend, but more than a friend, he was a true brother in Christ - always willing to listen, to encourage, to impart hope and to share the burden in prayer.
Praying God's comfort and peace upon you during this season of grief.

Gordon Bucek,
There are 3 men in my long life that I call ‘friends’. Gordon was one of them.
I was friends with Gordon from 1961 to 2020 the longest of all my friendships. We attended Bible College together for three years where our friendship began. Gordon and Jeanette and their children were family friends for many years in Regina while Gordon completed studies in seminary and at the University of Regina.
Then the Buceks moved to Stoney Creek and to the Niagara Escarpment. For two years Gordon and I hiked the Bruce Trail (the Niagara Escarpment) from 1997 to 2000. We are ‘End to Enders’ # 1306 and # 1307. We also spent two weeks hiking in the Grand Circle National Parks of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Nevada. It was a specular hike and the high mark of our friendship.
Gordon was an Associate Pastor, an Assistant District Superintendent an Interim DS, a Chaplain and significantly, for me, ‘a friend’. Our friendship continued with our wives, Jeanette and Jo Anne, until now with coffee breaks and lunch visits in Woodstock – mid way between our homes.
Gordon expressed empathy wonderfully. He was a kind soul. He was “a friend closer than a brother” (Prov 18:24).

Dear Jeanette and family,
It is with sadness we learned of Pastor Gordon leaving this earth so early. Yet we are encouraged to know he has gone to a great resting place in the arms of his Lord and Saviour and will be in the presence of many that he loved and knew on this earth.
Pastor Gordon was a living representation of the love of Christ. His gentle way and kindness touched many lives.
He will be missed but his legacy lives on in his family and those personally touched by the love in Christ that he shared with us.
We pray for Gods peace that passes all understanding at this time of loss.
Our love to all of you
Elaine and Dave Anderson

Every time I think about Gordon, I get a smile on my face. I remember when you first came to Stoney Creek Alliance and the wee jokes that were played upon our new Pastor. The fun we had at your new house with Lois barking like a dog and poor Gordon running all thru the house looking for the 'dog' that got in thru the open door....not ! Seriously though, Gordon always brought a sense of knowledge and true comfort. You knew that when he prayed for you, they were special prayers sent to the Throne Of God on your behalf. Our Christian Walk was so enhanced with Pastor Gordon walking alongside of us. We will miss him very much !

Dear Jeanette and family
Our hearts ache for your loss.
Gord was such a special part of Stoney Creek Alliance and our lives.
He was one of those special men whose Godly spirit helped model and encourage David and many others to grow into better versions of ourselves.
Gord was a wonderful listener, and had a Christ-like sensitivity to those he interacted with. He genuinely cared about everyone’s personal journey, and always had words of wisdom and spiritual insight.
Blessings of peace be yours,
David&Carol Fesuk
