Hi, I'm Garvin, I've known Al for over 30 years at the Hamilton Chess Club. I was club president for the last 15 years up until September 2019, during which time Al greatly helped me by taking the floater role, which means he played when there was an odd number of competitors. I know many funny stories about Al, but the bottom line is he sure liked to play chess! I will greatly miss Al's singing at chess board.
