My deepest condolences to the Prsa family. Please allow me to share some memories with you about Joe.
We were the best of buddies in grades 6,7 and 8 at St. John's school when he lived on Wexford Ave South in Hamilton. Joe was the greatest natural born athlete I had ever seen and had he chosen to pursue a future in athletics, he undoubtedly would have had many offers of scholarships to his pick of any university. I don't know why, perhaps he felt sorry for me, but Joe had a habit of taking the underdog under his wing, and I happened to be that underdog in our elementary school.
We had so many laughs and so much fun that I can't remember learning much during those years. Joe had a wicked sense of humour and always encouraged/dared me do something to try and get me out of my shell of timidness. I remember one time when he came up with what he thought was a great idea - it would be a competition between the two of us to see who could ask the stupidest question of another student after completing a presentation in front of the class. Joe was sitting beside me and whispered a really stupid question to me to ask of that student. At first I refused to ask it but after he repeatedly egged me on, I caved in, raised my hand and then embarrassingly asked that dumbest of questions. There was a moment of silence and then Joe started laughing his head off. I got in trouble with the teacher for that who then wanted to see me after class. Those were some really great times.
Joe then moved away to the far east end of the city with his folks and befriended another underdog by the name of Corrado Zanesco who I have no doubt he also got into trouble. We didn't see as much of each other after that. Marriage and children followed, things got busy for all of us and life continued on.
May you rest in peace Joe. Thanks for the great memories. You were a real good friend.

Dear Kathy and family,
I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Joe's passing. He was kind enough to stand as my sponsor when I was confirmed all those years ago, but in my mind he stood for much more. To this day the name Joe Prsa evokes images of a man who displayed intelligence, class and integrity.
My wife and I pray that you and your family find comfort in his memory.
God Bless,
Slavko and Christine Ray

Kathy and family, on behalf of all my family we extend our sincere sympathies.
We are deeply saddened by your loss. He left us much too soon and is missed.
Remembering that as we grew up in our teenage years, Joe became a dear friend and this friendship continued on for all of these years.
We have so many good memories.
May you find comfort in your memories of Joe.
Strength knowing he is in a better blessed place watching over you.

Dear Kathy and family, my deepest condolences from myself and my family. I think it's been about 15 years since we've become neighbours but Joe became much more to me. He's been a great friend and I'm going to miss him so much. He was always there to lend a hand or just give advice. I've always admired how meticulous he kept his lawn and gardens.
May God bless you and your family during this time and always,
John Savoia

Kathy, Jason and Nick I was so sad to read of Joe's passing. He was my friend and neighbour on Deercreek Drive in Ancaster for many years. Joe was a kind and thoughtful person who would do anything to help you out. He took pride in everything he did. His lawn and gardens were meticulous, his vehicles spotless. He always made Halloween special for our children by providing them with enough candy to fill their bags. I missed Joe when he moved away but always remembered the good times we had together as neighbours.
